How to Kill an Emperor

Intro

One of my two earliest story ideas from back when I was still in highschool. I used to make Dungeons and Dragons characters for fun in my spare time even though I rarely had the chance to actually play them. It gave me the opportunity to mess around with writing different origin stories for the characters that fit their class, race, and alignment. Eventually I decided to put all these characters together in a big mental continuity that slowly grew as the years went on. This is probably the biggest out of all my stories in terms of worldbuilding. I've really enjoyed expanding this world over the years by adding whatever weird stuff sounded neat at the time

Countess Farfalla

(my inspiration for this one is Kevin Levin from the original Ben 10. Once I get around to drawing her, I wanna come up with some really crazy designs that mix elements of different fantasy creatures together) Growing up poor in the slums of the Capital, Bella Farfalla vowed she would do anything it took to survive. While a more socially conscious person would have desired to fight back against the system that kept her family impoverished, she instead dreamed of one day becoming the oppressor. Farfalla spent her young adult years scrubbing the floors of the Capital's most exclusive brothels until a fateful encounter with Count Soren Seule had her whisked away to his castle for a one in a million fairy tale ending. However, she soon discovered that she was merely in latest addition to rather large harem. Upon Count Seule's death, Farfalla

Baron Cometa

Armani Cometa is a distant cousin of Bella Farfalla, and the wealthy ruler of a barony in his own right. Much like his cousin, he is no stranger to alchemical grafting and transplantation. While Countess Farfalla's obsession with transplantation stems from a desire to be uniquely beautiful, Baron Cometa partakes in this gruesome act for the purposes of pushing his body beyond its physical limiations. He desires above all else to be the most physically capable man in the world. Each new transplant renders him stronger, faster, or more nimble. He routinely spends his time testing his new parts by practicing both hand to hand martial arts and armed combat. Unlike his cousin, Cometa is rather careful about overexerting himself for fear of damaging his limbs. As such, while he is still a formidable threat, he is the noticeable lesser of two evils when the two collaborate. (Also he's based off the Comet Moth)

Anessa the Pure

At a young age, Anessa was chosen by the gods to be their champion of good thanks to her unparalleled purity of heart. Anessa loves all citizens of the capital and always thinks of others before herself. Unfortunately, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. The true systemic corruption of the capital has been hidden from Anessa by her constituents ever since she was chosen to ascend to their ranks. While she believes herself to be a warrior for good, inspiring the downtrodden to face adversity and to be kind to one another, she's little more than a mascot for the proletariat. Anessa is frequently tasked with holding speeches and demonstrations to boost civilian morale, though this is mostly to keep her busy so she doesn't notice what's really going on around her. Her sheltered upbringing has rendered her too gullible and naive for her own good. While she would make a stand against the Emperor's corruption if she could be convinced of its existence, her unwavering loyalty and honesty makes her the ideal puppet for those with sinister intentions.
